(English version below)
¡Hola, hola! Llevo unos días off por
Hi there! I've been some days off for several reasons: our provider left us without our basic human right to internet (yep, in Cardamomoland internet is a basic human right, that's life!), I had my first visit to doctor and sick leave here and then, when I was cured, I had an important laziness attack. Sun and eternal days are back and it doesn't feel like I want to be cooking at home.
Today I won't bring you a recipe (in a
couple of days I'll be back with a nordic and delicious one) but I
needed to post today because it's Juhannus and it's a huge party
here. Usually people leave to their summer cottages to enjoy infernal
sauna sessions, grilled sausages and liters of anything with lots of
alcohol degrees, but this year we are going to stay in Helsinki to
live two events that only happen once each 365 days: what Herra K
calls the “zombie apocalypse of Helsinki” and the bonfires in
Seurasaari. Everything will be deeply explained in the next post.
Juhannus is also the shortest night of
the year and it leaves beautiful postcards of the midnight sun in
Finland (beautiful mostly when you have gone over that horrible
insomnia produced by only a couple of hours of darkness, another
cause of my justified laziness).
Here you have a couple of
those that Herra K took some years ago, when he changed the urban
apocalypse for the duet forest-kokko (bonfire).
